Imagine if you will
Extending your hand to grasp an object
Just beyond your reach
Your fingers yearn for the grasp of it
Narrowly missing the surface of the object
Its dark or bright surface mocking you
(Change words of contrast)
Bars restrict you
Wires cut at your skin
Sometimes it is only yourself
Holding your shoulders back
A stranger appears
Or maybe it is yourself as a stranger
Picking up the object with ease
Grinning wicked at you
Smashing and returning it to dust
Another item catches your eye
You make your may to it as well
Though it is far off it fills your soul with desire
Your clever hands unlock the bars
Your bleeding arms navigate the wire
You you’ve grown stronger fighting yourself
And yet the stranger is there ahead
Grinning
